지난 주부터 Waves에서 자사의 플러그인(plug-ins)을 특별할인하는 행사를 했다. 수많은 고민을 했다. 일단 구입하고 싶어하는 번들은 “Gold“였다. 이 번들 안에 들어 있는 플러그인들은 녹음을 하는 사람이라면 기본적으로 사용하고 싶어하는 것들로 구성되어 있다. 그리고 이번 기회에 꼭 구입하고 싶었던 플러그인은 “vocal rider“였다.
처음엔 Gold와 비슷한 구성이지만, 가격이 좀 더 저렴한 Silver 번들과 vocal rider 단품을 조합하여 구입하려고 하였다. 그러다가 다시 Gold 번들 + vocal rider로 바뀌었다. 그런데 결제하려는 날, 내 차량과 아내의 차량에 돈이 많이 들어갔다. 내 차량의 브레이크 라이닝을 교체하였고, 아내의 차량은 브레이크 라이닝과 타이어 전체를 교환해야 하는 상황이었다.
들떴던 마음을 가라앉히고, vocal rider만 구입했다. 그런데 마음 한구석에 서운한 마음이 많이 들었다. 그리고 번들 중에 Morgan Page EMP Toolbox 안에 vocal rider가 들어 있었기 때문에 다시 마음이 변하였다. 이미 결제를 했고, 플러그인을 인스톨하고 등록도 된 상태였지만, Waves사로 메일을 보냈다.
주말이 지나고 조금 전에 메일이 왔다. 그렇게 해주겠다는 것이다. 그리고 지금 몇가지 프로세싱을 하고 있다. Waves의 플러그인들은 예전에는 iLok을 통해 인증했으나, 지금은 자체적으로 App을 통해서 인증하는 방식으로 바뀌었다. 그 App이 바로 “Waves Central“이다. 아무튼 지금 이것을 통해 기존에 인스톨했던 vocal rider를 licenses cloud로 보내는 작업을 해놓고 다시 메일을 보냈다. 이제 결제하는 단계를 남겨두고 있다.
Morgan Page EMP Toolbox 번들 안에는 아래와 같은 플러그인들이 들어 있다. 원래 이 플러그인의 가격은 599불이다. 이번 겨울 세일기간에는 149불에 판매를 한다. 주로 겨울과 여름에 세일을 하곤 한다. 사실 vocal rider의 원래가격도 249불인데, 이번 세일에 69불에 판매를 하고 있다. 아무튼 제대로 준 가격을 주고 사용하기엔 다소 비싼 감이 있지만, 이렇게 세일을 할 때 하나씩 사는 것도 즐거운 일이다.
